Kyrgyzstan is a small attractive mountainous country (93% covered in
mountains) in Central Asia, situated at the same latitude as Italy, Spain and
Japan. Kazakhstan borders on Kyrgyzstan in the north. China in the south,
Uzbekistan in the west and Tajikistan in the south-west.
The area of Kyrgyzstan is the homeland of ancient nomadic people
called “Kyrgyz”. The Kyrgyz look like
the Chinese and Mongolians. They love eagle-hunting. The first mention of the
Kyrgyz people can be found in Chinese Chronicles (201 BC).
The beauty and richness of Kyrgyzstan’s native flora and fauna will
amaze you with its diversity. Gorgeous mountain landscapes, rushing rivers,
dense coniferous and nut forests, green valleys and canyons, covered by flowers
are common sights in Kyrgyzstan. The highest mountain in the chains-Pamir and
Tien-Shan (well-known in the Chinese sword-fighting tales)-that cross the
country is Peak Pobeda (67439 meters 24,549 ft-above sea level). Hence,
Kyrgyzstan is known as the “Land of The Celestial Mountains”.
Kyrgyzstan has a long historical relationship with the continents of Asia and the Americas. For instance, Tibet Lamaism and Judaism spreaded to Kyrgyzstan. A walnut species native to West Asia, found in Kyrgyzstan, is also found in the Andean forests of South American country Peru. The ancient Kyrgyz forefathers moved across the Bering Straits and settled south towards ancient Peru. Until today, the hats that the Kyrgyz and Peruvian Indians put on are similar to each other in many ways…In the Talas Valley, rock drawings of “a deer-camel and a female deer with two conic humps” (KYRGYZSTAN Land of the Celestial Mountains An Information Pack, p. 41, 28.05.2003) are similar to the llama species of Peru. Many camel experts believe that the llama species of ancient Peru migrated to the deserts via Central Asia and became today’s camels.
Thus, Kyrgyzstan is a country rich in ancient civilization relics because traces of the Stone Age can be found here. The region has witnessed the migration movements of ancient Central Asian nomads towards the Indian Peninsula, western China and as far south as Southeast Asia.
Kyrgyzstan’s tourism assets are
uncountable and hence the writer is not able to describe further. The
mysterious Kyrgyzstan awaits the world to explore its ancient secrets.
Kyrgyzstan’s capital Bishkek has direct flights to Delhi, Urumqi, Russia, London, Munich, Istanbul and Sharjah. Its indirect flights reach Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore via China, Uzbekistan or and Kazakhstan.
